EMDR Therapy
Move past trauma with eMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy technique used to help people heal from emotional trauma. Most people naturally carry memories of traumatic events with them for years and can sometimes prevent one from moving forward. EMDR Therapy strives to remove mental blocks that can cause people to feel “stuck” while replacing them with feelings of resolution and/or healing. While traditional talk therapy can help in a similar fashion, EMDR can achieve these results much quicker in many cases, which makes it one of the most popular trauma therapy techniques worldwide. What is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR Therapy is an eight-phase program designed to equip clients with calming techniques while lessening the impact of traumatic memories. One of the unique hallmarks of this approach is the bilateral stimulation component, which involves the therapist guiding the client to focus on eye movements, tones and taps. After honing your coping skills, we will monitor and perfect your ability to evade traumatic thoughts and create a long-term plan designed to sustain the results!

Why choose eMDR Therapy?
Our trauma specialist, Megan Humphrey, has used EMDRT among other techniques for over a decade to help clients recover from traumatic experiences. This includes first responders, victims of crime, and people who have been subjected to abuse, violence and/or negligence. When included in treatment programs, EMDR can serve as a fast, effective way to escape traumatic thoughts and accelerate your pursuit of your ultimate goals. In addition to it’s effectiveness for trauma, EMDR is also sometimes deployed to help people dealing with grief or anxiety. There are some contraindications to this approach, so we offer free consultations for anyone interested in EMDR Therapy in Austin or anywhere else in Texas. Click below to schedule yours!
How many sessions does it take?
Treatment plans usually last 6-to-12 sessions, with durations depending on clients’ consistency and how well they maintain results. Some clients use this approach in conjunction with a much larger treatment plan, which can span years in some cases.
is online emdr therapy just as effective?
It is true that EMDR Therapy was primarily administered in-person early on in it’s history. However, technology has enabled therapists to achieve identical results in recent times. Please note that we currently only offer this service online.
What areas do you offer service to?
Our therapists are licensed to treat clients all throughout Texas, with people from Austin and Central Texas comprising most of our client base. We’d be happy to meet you via a free consultation if you feel you could benefit from our offerings!
