What is Pregnancy Anxiety?
Pregnancy anxiety has been scientifically shown to cause mental and behavioral changes in expecting mothers. The increased levels of stress hormones can even cause development issues in young children. Because even women who don’t regularly suffer from anxiety can develop pregnancy anxiety, it’s important to seek additional support should these symptoms develop. I help clients identify behavioral patterns that could result from this condition and take strides to develop coping mechanisms to curtail them.

It’s perfectly natural to worry during pregnancy. Pregnancy anxiety, however, involves irrational thoughts and fears that cause intense reactions. This includes self isolation, avoidance of routine activities, and hyperfixation on physical symptoms.
How does pregnancy anxiety counseling work?
My approach begins with isolating thought patterns that could be leading to potentially harmful behaviors. After practicing coping techniques to help in the short term, we will create a long-term plan to conquer these thoughts with productive and intentional responses.
How many sessions does it take to see results?
Every pregnancy is different in terms of physical and mental well being. It is for this reason most of my clients start with an 8-10 week treatment plan before assessing progress and adjusting the care plan on an as-needed basis.
